1st Step:
1pound Fish Fillets, use Tilapia or Salmon or Canned Tuna
1/4tsp Turmeric Powder
1tbsp Vinegar
Salt
Water, as needed
2nd step;
1 Onion, finely chopped
5tbsp Ginger Garlic, paste or finely minced
4-5 Green Chillies, finely chopped
Curry Leaves
1tsp Chilli Powder
1/4tsp Turmeric
1tbsp Garam Masala
Black Pepper Powder, according to your taste
Corriander Leaves, as garnish
Oil
Salt
3rd Step:
2 big Potato, cooked and mashed
1cup Bread Crumbs
1 Egg, slightly beaten
Oil, for frying
Directions
- 1st step Ingredients;
- Combine all the ingredients together in a pan and cook until Fish is fully cooked.
- Allow it to cool down, then carefully drain all the liquid.
- 2nd step Ingredients;
- Heat some Oil in a pan and saute Onion, Ginger Garlic, Green Chillies and Curry Leaves.
- Saute until Onion turns light golden brown in color.
- Add Chilli Powder, Turmeric and Salt.
- Saute for few mins or until raw smell os spices are gone.
- Carefully add cooked Fish fillets and stir until everything is mashed and shredded.
- Fry until all the water inside Fish is dried out and Fish mixture is nicely or lightly toasted.
- Sprinkle Garam Masala and Black Pepper Powder.
- Taste the mixture and if needed add Pepper and Salt according to your taste.
- Sprinkle Coriander leaves and mix everything well.
- Allow Fish mixture to cool down.
- 3rd Step Ingredients;
- Into a big mix bowl combine Fish Masala and cooked Potato.
- Mix everything well and make small golf size balls or any shape you like.
- Dip each Cutlets in Egg wash and roll in Bread Crumbs.
- Deep fry in Oil until each Cutlets are golden brown in color.
- Serve Kerala Style Fish Cutlets hot or warm with Ketchup or Salad.
