Ingredients

  • 1st Step:

  • 1pound Fish Fillets, use Tilapia or Salmon or Canned Tuna

  • 1/4tsp Turmeric Powder

  • 1tbsp Vinegar

  • Salt

  • Water, as needed

  • 2nd step;

  • 1 Onion, finely chopped

  • 5tbsp Ginger Garlic, paste or finely minced

  • 4-5 Green Chillies, finely chopped

  • Curry Leaves

  • 1tsp Chilli Powder

  • 1/4tsp Turmeric

  • 1tbsp Garam Masala

  • Black Pepper Powder, according to your taste

  • Corriander Leaves, as garnish

  • Oil

  • Salt

  • 3rd Step:

  • 2 big Potato, cooked and mashed

  • 1cup Bread Crumbs

  • 1 Egg, slightly beaten

  • Oil, for frying

Directions

  • 1st step Ingredients;
  • Combine all the ingredients together in a pan and cook until Fish is fully cooked.
  • Allow it to cool down, then carefully drain all the liquid.
  • 2nd step Ingredients;
  • Heat some Oil in a pan and saute Onion, Ginger Garlic, Green Chillies and Curry Leaves.
  • Saute until Onion turns light golden brown in color.
  • Add Chilli Powder, Turmeric and Salt.
  • Saute for few mins or until raw smell os spices are gone.
  • Carefully add cooked Fish fillets and stir until everything is mashed and shredded.
  • Fry until all the water inside Fish is dried out and Fish mixture is nicely or lightly toasted.
  • Sprinkle Garam Masala and Black Pepper Powder.
  • Taste the mixture and if needed add Pepper and Salt according to your taste.
  • Sprinkle Coriander leaves and mix everything well.
  • Allow Fish mixture to cool down.
  • 3rd Step Ingredients;
  • Into a big mix bowl combine Fish Masala and cooked Potato.
  • Mix everything well and make small golf size balls or any shape you like.
  • Dip each Cutlets in Egg wash and roll in Bread Crumbs.
  • Deep fry in Oil until each Cutlets are golden brown in color.
  • Serve Kerala Style Fish Cutlets hot or warm with Ketchup or Salad.
