Ingredients

  • 6 Ripe Plantains

  • 1cup All Purpose Flour / Maida

  • 1/2cup Rice Flour

  • 2-3tbsp Sugar

  • Salt

  • Water

  • Oil, for frying

Directions

  • Slice Plantains into thin pieces, keep it aside.
  • Into a mixing bowl combine Maida, Rice Flour, Sugar and Salt.
  • Mix everything well and carefully add Water.
  • Make sure batter is thick and has the consistency of Pancake batter or Dosa batter.
  • If batter is too thin, then add some Rice flour or Maida to get the perfect consistency.
  • Taste the batter and if needed add Sugar and Salt according to taste.
  • Heat Oil in a pan and dip each Plantain pieces in batter and carefully drop into hot Oil and fry until Banana is crispy and golden brown in color.
  • Serve Crispy Pazham Pori / Banana Fritters / Ethakka Appam hot or warm or room temperature with Tea or Coffee.
