Ingredients

  • To make Dough**
  • 1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour

  • 1/4 cup Maida

  • 2tsp Oil

  • 3/4 cup Water

  • To make Filling
  • 3/4 cup Channa Dal

  • 1 cup grated Jaggery

  • 1tsp Cardamon Powder

Directions

  • To make Dough
  • Mix everything well & make a dough .Cover & keep it aside .
  • To make Filling
  • Using a pressure cooker cook the Dal .
  • Drain all of the water .
  • Using a grinder , grind the Dal into a fine powder .
  • Add the Jaggery & Dal into a pan & cook until all the jaggery is melted & all the water is evaporated .
  • Add the Cardamon powder & mix well .
  • Transfer the Dal into a plate & allow it to cool .
  • To make Poli
  • Make equal balls out of the Dough & also from the Dal .
  • Dough ball should be little bigger than the Dal ball )
  • Take one Dough & roll it into a small disc & place one Dal ball into the dough .
  • Seal all the sides & roll into a small Chapati .
  • Using a hot griddle roast the Poli .
  • Serve it hot with some Ghee or Butter .

  1. i only needed 1/2 cup of water to make the dough and i used light brown sugar instead of jaggery…. it was really good…. i really enjoyed it….
