Puran Poli is a Marathi Sweet . It is made with Channa Dal or with Toor Dal .

- To make Dough**
1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
1/4 cup Maida
2tsp Oil
3/4 cup Water
- To make Filling
3/4 cup Channa Dal
1 cup grated Jaggery
1tsp Cardamon Powder
Directions
- To make Dough
- Mix everything well & make a dough .Cover & keep it aside .
- To make Filling
- Using a pressure cooker cook the Dal .
- Drain all of the water .
- Using a grinder , grind the Dal into a fine powder .
- Add the Jaggery & Dal into a pan & cook until all the jaggery is melted & all the water is evaporated .
- Add the Cardamon powder & mix well .
- Transfer the Dal into a plate & allow it to cool .
- To make Poli
- Make equal balls out of the Dough & also from the Dal .
- Dough ball should be little bigger than the Dal ball )
- Take one Dough & roll it into a small disc & place one Dal ball into the dough .
- Seal all the sides & roll into a small Chapati .
- Using a hot griddle roast the Poli .
- Serve it hot with some Ghee or Butter .
i only needed 1/2 cup of water to make the dough and i used light brown sugar instead of jaggery…. it was really good…. i really enjoyed it….
