Parippu Curry ( Kerela Style Daal )

Ingredients

  • Dal

  • water

  • 1/2cup of Grated coconut

  • 3 Green Chillies

  • 1 whole Red Chillies

  • 1/4tsp Turmeric powder

  • 1tbsp Ghee

  • Curry leaves

  • Salt

Directions

  • Cook 1cup of Dal in a pressure cooker .
  • Add as much water needed .
  • Grind 1/2cup of Grated coconut , 3 Green Chillies , 1 whole Red Chillies & 1/4tsp Turmeric powder . Should make a fine paste . Try to add little water .
  • When daal is cooked add the grind coconut paste & allow the dal to heat through .
  • Add 1tbsp Ghee , Curry leaves & Salt . Turn off the gas & serve it hot with Rice .

Notes

  • This is a very easy curry & taste very good with Rice .
    Usually this curry is served in Onasadhya .
    This kind of Dal is usually made with Moong Dal , but I used to make with Masoor Dal . But still it taste good .
