Ingredients needed to make Kerala Style Nadan Beef Roast:
1 kg Beef
2 tbsp Coriander Powder
1tbsp Chilli Powder
1tsp Turmeric
Salt
5-6 tbsp Garlic, grated or paste or minced
3 tbsp Ginger, grated or paste or minced
3-4 Onion, thinly sliced
4-5 Tomato, diced
3-4 Green Chilies
1/2 cup Water
Curry Leaves
2 tbsp Fennel Powder ( Perumjeerakam )
Black Pepper Powder
2 tbsp Garam Masala
Coconut Oil / Oil
Method:
In a Pressure Cooker, add Beef, Coriander Powder, Chilli Powder, Turmeric, 3 tbsp minced Garlic, 3 tbsp grated Ginger,Salt and 1/2 cup Water.
Mix everything well and cook until Beef is fully cooked through. Usually it takes 2-3 whistles in my Cooker, it might varies according to the Cooker you are using.
Heat Oil in a pan and saute Onion and Curry Leaves.
Saute until Onion is golden brown in color.
Add minced Garlic and saute for few mins or until raw smell of Garlic is gone.
Carefully pour the gravy or stock inside the cooker.
Add diced Tomato and cook until its soft or cooked through.
Pour in the cooked Beef and if needed add little Water and wash down all the masala stuck inside the cooker.
Sprinkle Fennel Powder, Garam Masala, Black pepper and Green Chilies.
Let everything boil together and make sure to adjust Salt and Black Pepper according to your taste.
Serve Kerala Style Nadan Beef Roast hot with Rice or Roti or Bread or Naan.
