Ingredients

  • 2pound Shrimp, cleaned

  • 1tsp Chilli Powder

  • 1/2tsp Turmeric

  • Salt

  • Small pieces Kudampuli / Garcinia

  • 2-3 Onion, thinly sliced

  • Curry Leaves

  • 1/2cup Coconut Flakes, fresh or frozen

  • Coconut Oil

Directions

  • Cook Shrimp, Chilli, Turmeric, Salt and Kudampuli together. ( refer *notes )
  • Heat some Coconut Oil in a pan and saute Onions and Curry Leaves.
  • Fry Onions until its golden brown in color.
  • Carefully add cooked Shrimp and Coconut flakes. ( refer *notes )
  • Cook  until Shrimp is lightly fried.
  • Serve Kerala Style Shrimp Roast / Chemmen Roast hot  with Rice.

Notes

  • Cooking Shrimp: Mix all the ingredients together and cook Shrimp. If needed add some Water while cooking Shrimp.
    There will be masala stuck inside the pan where Shrimp is cooked. Add little water and  scrape down all the masala.
