Spinach Curry ( Kerala Style )

This is a good recipe . Its a good curry  for Rice & also for Roti . Sometimes I used to make this curry  with Snake Gourd , Methi Leaves & also with Bottle Gourd . In this recipe you can use any kind of Dal .I usally use Moong Dal  or Masoor Dal .

Ingredients

  • 4 cup Spinach

  • 1/2 cup Dal

  • To Grind :
  • 1/2 cup grated Coconut

  • 3 Green Chilies

  • 2 whole Red Chilies

  • 1/4tsp Cumin Seeds

  • 1tsp Turmeric Powder

  • For Garnish:
  • 1tsp Mustard Seeds

  • 6-7 Shallots

  • Curry Leaves

  • 2 whole Red Chilies

Directions

  • Cook Dal by adding some water & Salt .
  • Once Dal is cooked add Spinach & cook .
  • To Grind :
  • Add some water & grind all the ingredients together .
  • When Spinach & Dal is cooked , add the grind mixture .
  • Mix everything well & turn off the gas .
  • For Garnish:
  • In a pan heat some oil & splutter Mustard Seeds .
  • Add thinly sliced Shallots , Curry Leaves & Red Chilies .
  • Fry till Shallots turn golden brown .
  • Pour this over the Spinach & Dal curry .
  • Mix everything well .
  • Serve hot with Rice or Roti .
