Puran Poli is a Marathi Sweet . It is made with Channa Dal or with Toor Dal .
To make Dough : 1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
1/4 cup Maida
3/4 cup Water
Mix everything well & make a dough .Cover & keep it aside .
To make Filling : 3/4 cup Channa Dal
1 cup grated Jaggery
1tsp Cardamon Powder
Using a pressure cooker cook the Dal .
Drain all of the water .
Using a grinder , grind the Dal into a fine powder .
Add the Jaggery & Dal into a pan & cook until all the jaggery is melted & all the water is evaporated .
Add the Cardamon powder & mix well .
Transfer the Dal into a plate & allow it to cool .
To make Poli :
Make equal balls out of the Dough & also from the Dal .
( Dough ball should be little bigger than the Dal ball )
Take one Dough & roll it into a small disc & place one Dal ball into the dough .
Seal all the sides & roll into a small Chapati .
Using a hot griddle roast the Poli .
Serve it hot with some Ghee or Butter .
